On behalf of the staff at Kent Street Senior High School, I welcome you and your family to our school community.
At Kent Street, our work is centred on high-quality teaching, meaningful learning, and clear, purposeful assessment. We are committed to ensuring every student is known, supported, and challenged to achieve their best. Our priorities—Successful Students, Empowered Teachers, Impactful Leaders, and a Connected Community—guide everything we do.
Our purpose is simple and important: that every student leaves Kent Street well prepared for life beyond school. We focus on building the knowledge, skills, and confidence students need to pursue their chosen pathways and reach their individual potential. We know that success looks different for every student, and we provide a range of opportunities and support to help them get there.
Kent Street offers a broad and engaging curriculum for students in Years 7 to 12, including both academic and vocational pathways leading to the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE). Our specialist programs in Aviation, Cricket, Fashion and Design, and Katalyst (Science) provide unique opportunities for students to develop their interests and talents in depth.
We are proud of our diverse community and value the different perspectives and experiences our students bring. Our school values—Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, and Achievement—are embedded in our daily practice and underpin our motto, Courage to Achieve. These values shape how we learn, how we work together, and how we support one another.
Our teachers and support staff are dedicated to creating classrooms where students are engaged, think deeply, and are encouraged to take ownership of their learning. Beyond the classroom, students can access a wide range of extracurricular opportunities that enrich their school experience and help them build confidence and connection.
Kent Street is well resourced, with facilities that support a broad range of learning experiences, including specialist spaces for the arts, sciences, technologies, and sport, as well as our Curtin Trade Training Centre, which provides industry-standard learning opportunities.
We also value our strong partnerships with families, industry, and the wider community. These connections enhance learning and open doors for our students. We recognise that parents and carers are a child’s first educators, and we welcome your involvement as partners in your child’s education.
