Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)

Kent Street Senior High School is a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) school. With a focus on improving student academic and behaviour outcomes, ensuring all students have access to the most effective and accurately implemented instructional and behavioural practices and interventions possible.

PBS builds a continuum of supports for staff and students. The school community has created a Behaviour Matrix, which has an emphasis in the form of agreed expectations for student and staff behaviour. The Behaviour Matrix was created using data, and guides decision making about what practices should be put in place to support student learning and social behaviour. The PBS Committee has a staff representative from every Learning Area and meets regularly each term to develop practices and systems that are applied across the curriculum.
