The Western Australian Cricket Association has been in partnership with Kent Street since the idea of establishing the first specialised sports program in Western Australia was proposed. With provision of training facilities, coaching staff, finance, work experience and employment the WACA is proud to host the annual Graduation of year 12 students, recognising the students initial commitment to cricket and encouraging them to be life long contributors to the game of cricket. A number of our graduates are employed by the WACA including Mark Sanders (NE development officer), Joe Sarsero (South West coaching officer), Andrew Dawe (SE development officer), Shaun Taylor(media communications) and Scott Burke(Turf management). Kent Street's has also helped develop many WA junior representatives and 1st Grade WACA district cricketers.

In upper school students can study for their TEE and continue with their cricket. Kent Street is a Registered Training Provider school and students can study the Certificate I & II Sport Industry National Training package. This involves Structured Workplace Learning for 1 day a week where students develop skills in a variety of work placements including the WACA, sports retail, turf management, sports administration and venue management.
Students can't wait for matches and to be a part of the travel program, which involves camps in years 8, 9 and 10 playing matches against other specialised cricket high schools, John Forrest, Rockingham and Mandurah. The Australian 5 Highs Cricket Championship takes place every December rotating through the capital city high schools of Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth, Sydney and Melbourne that have a similar strong commitment to cricket. The exciting cricket matches and social experience have provided long lasting friendships and memories for our graduates.
The international tours to Malaysia, 2002, and New Zealand, 2004, were an outstanding success and the Supportive Parents Of Cricket Kids (SPOCK) committee meet and determine with the staff and students where they will travel to next. Anyone fancy Singapore, England or the World Cup? These are lifelong experiences and are all possibilities if you are in the Cricket Course!
Selection trials are held on the last Monday of Term 1 at the WACA for year 7s and other years can contact the school for an individual trial. Occasionally positions become available in this popular program. Contact the Cricket Co-ordinator, Cory Hugo on 08 9262 0500 for information.
